Recipe: Double Acting Paleo Baking Powder
Locating a double acting baking powder that is aluminum free and not derived from either potato (Paleo controversial) or corn (grain) can be a daunting task. There is however a homemade version that does not include a starch. This reflects that there is not a means for the mixture to absorb moisture from the air. Therefore, this homemade version should be used immediately and should not be stored. Only make what you will need based on one recipe at a time.
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons cream of tarter
Note. Cream of Tarter is non-dairy. It is derived from the winemaking process.
1. Mix well and use immediately. Yields 1 tablespoon of baking powder.
